One of my favorite blogs, Frugalwoods.com, has been doing this cool challenge for about a year now. It’s a month of uber frugality and I thought, man, that would be a great way for folks to step intentionally onto the path of mindfulness – by doing a challenge. So, I’ve put together what I hope will be uplifting and motivational for you.
You might want to know a little more about me and why I feel so passionately about this. I’ve been contemplative all my life, a writer since I was 12 years old, and meditating for 12 years. It was important to me to be able to give meditation instruction properly so I went through a program for it in my tradition (Shambhala). I’ve been a course leader and facilitator for groups for almost two years now and it has shown me the deep heart and hunger for these practices of being intentional with our minds and hearts as well as our actions.
I love watching people connect how their breath affects their mind or how really showing up with our whole selves for something can trigger this lush journey into wakefulness. This blog is about that journey – mine and yours. It can be helpful, even life-changing to pair these practices with writing and journaling. But it isn’t necessary if that’s not your cup of tea.
